Space Pirate Trainer is essentially just a glorified shooting gallery, but the experience of holding one or more blaster pistols in front of you, physically ducking or sidestepping laser projectiles in slow motion and pulling out a giant transparent shield from nowhere is *very* satisfying in VR. This kind of simplistic wave-based shooter is already becoming a subgenre of its own in the SteamVR marketplace, but SPT has more style and production values than most of its competitors (and is actually reasonably priced (€15), which is sadly not always the case).
