Maybe I'm starting too many side projects... eh... maybe...
People say this game pales in comparison to the first Rocket Knight Adventures... Unfortunately I have to agree. But this is not to say this game is *bad*, it's different from Rocket Knight Adventures, but it's far from the crap tier and I still love Rocket Knight Adventures 2 even I disagree with some of its gameplay design choices.
I played the skippable intro here not just for show-- you MUST get that sword by defeating Axel Gear in order to get the Golden Sparkster at the final stage of the game and get the best ending.
The game starts off pretty painful, the very first level is very long and has some really nasty bits here and there with two, maybe three if you count the gear machine, mini-bosses that forces you to make good usage of your rocket boosts to survive.
The second part, the forest segment, is pretty difficult since those droplets can really throw you off by jamming your jetpack.
Very Hard in general makes the game unnecessarily more annoying to play since for every 10 gems collected you will always, and by that I mean 100% of the time, get a bomb as "prize". I don't have to tell you how much that can screw you over.
Very Hard also makes the first mini-boss considerably more dangerous, not only his arm stretching attacks comes out REALLY fast and he also throws much more crap at you. A good way to deal with him is counting to 3 and rocket boosting into his face.
The second mini-boss is really simple, there's nothing to write about him, the section preceding him is more interesting than the fight itself (which isn't saying much).
The first major boss is... boring. Really. The method to win here without taking damage is just rocket boost and keep yourself airborne for as long as you can paying attention where his bullets go and rocketing away accordingly. It's as tedious and boring as it sounds (and look).
