Splatoon 2: Good pushes in Clam Blitz [8(2)-4, Zink Mini Splatling]
That's a nice Curling Bomb to start the battle. I duck back afterwards in case the purple inkling out-flanks us, but it doesn't look like a problem. Better still, pushing forwards sees a squidmate heading for the basket, with the bucket chasing them, unaware or uncaring that I'm behind them. An Ink Storm helps keep things inky, but I kinda over-estimate how many clams I'm carrying. It was just the one, and although I stumble in to another, the purple inklings return to the fray before I can find and throw any more in to the basket.
Fifty points on the first score is good, and a squidmate sneaking up the blind corridor to chuck in three more makes it even better. The purple team push back, and despite my defensive moves, I end up shooting ink at my squidmates more than the other team. The purple team are limited in their scoring, though, and the battle returns to the middle of the Warehouse, where we scrap it out for turf.
A squidmate sneaks around the side again for another scoring power clam, and I dash forwards, narrowly missing the attentions of the Roller, to add yet another single clam to the basket. I'm pretty sure I owe it to my squidmates for the rest of the scoring. If I had just been a bit more cautious, and found three more clams, the battle could have been over, but we are all splatted. It's probably worth it for the massive lead we have now.
It's important not to fall to a swift counter-attack this time, so I hold a strong position and watch for power clams coming our way. My squidmates are more pro-active in their defence, but as the longest-range weapon in the team, I feel it best to be the last line for the time being. I act all Hydra Splatling-like, hiding behind a wall ready to pounce, but with a fraction of the range and power. It's probably best I'm not called on, and I watch the purple power clams withdraw, somehow just as one of our power clams hits their basket. Nice!
It would be nice to be able to dash forwards to make the most out of the barrier dropping, but it's better to use the opportunity to splat the disorientated purple team, reclaim a lot of turf, and strike a second time more emphatically. I make sure to gather more clams this time, so it's a bit of a shame that just when the way forwards looks clear, a yellow power clam in front of the basket, I get splatted away. Still, it leaves the inkling open to be splatted themselves, and it's a simple matter for my squidmates to throw plenty of clams in the basket to secure the victory. Woomy!
