Splatoon 2: Smooth start to Tigerfest: The Ocho [7-1, Grim Range Blaster]
Tigerfest: The Ocho has started! As in any Tigerfest, we loosen up by playing a few battles with whatever weapon you want, and I'm feeling good about the Grim Range Blaster to get around all the corners of Starfish Mainstage. At the start of the battle, I'm impressed I manage to squid up the wall with a good chunk of it uninked at the bottom, not that I can reach anything when I get up there. I can't do much else on the stage, though, but I am eyeing up the Splatterscope.
I don't take the risk of flopping at the bottom of the wall when I head up it again, which is where Burst Bombs come in very handy. Again I can't do much from where I am, made more difficult by the Splat Zones turning orange and the Range Blaster coming my way. I check that the Range Blaster isn't following me, then launch Tenta Missiles and cross the water. I'm surprised I catch tahm with my missiles.
The Splat Zones are inked by my squidmates, so I try to take advantage of my position and the indirect blasts of my weapon to cause some disruption. I get one splat nearby, and track back to help splat the Splatterscope on the ledge. That's good timing for more Tenta Missiles, letting me drop back a bit more to get a good enough launch. Two more splats with the missiles is unexpected!
I'm back on the hunt, and after inking the back of Speed's head get another splat. I find myself a little out of range after that, but that's okay, because it means the orange team aren't getting close to the Splat Zones either. I press forwards as I see an inkling heading up the wall, and give chase when my Burst Bomb doesn't splat them, only to run in to a nice sucker Suction Bomb. Even so, the battle is already won. Woomy!
