Splatoon 2: Still learning in League Tower Control [12(1)-7, Firefin Splatterscope]
That's a pretty low league power across the water, but I don't like to assume anything to start with. My squidmates, on the other hand, power their way to the Tower, splat the other team, and start riding forwards. Okay then! I do what I can to help, which amounts to a pretty good Splash Wall for cover, before getting easily splatted. The blue team overwhelm my squidmates and push the Tower back our way. My move to intercept gets me one splat, but I'm too close and too rusty to do much more.
I try to ink some turf as the blue team get further forwards, and aim a best-guess shot at the Tower. I miss, they take the lead. So it goes. I dunno if my movement to splat the Squiffer is good or going in the wrong direction, and as I can't see the Tower afterwards I'm gonna guess at the latter. As my squidmates stop the Tower finally, I let loose with a Suction Bomb Rush to protect us, but as I get splatted by the Tri-slosher I'm not sure I'm going it right.
The blue team get back on the Tower and extend their lead. Luckily, I'm in a better position to defend, and get a nice splat to stop their progress. Unluckily, I get very confused and my view resets to aim in the wrong direction. I don't think anyone noticed. We're finally heading in the right direction again! I ink some turf, throw down a neat Splash Wall that lines up the Squelchers for me, and am helped much more by Ink Armour than another Splash Wall in splatting the Squiffer.
I do better at distracting the Tri-slosher than splatting anyone, but I suppose that works too, and my squidmates get the splats and keep the Tower moving. My Suction Bomb Rush doesn't get any splats either, but keeps the Tower safe as my squidmates are pushed off it, until I can get the Squiffer looking in my direction instead of theirs. Our progress is halted again, though, and my shots are whiffing in every direction. I think about jumping the water to get on the Tower, but think better of that when the Tower jinks away from me.
I reset my position, or try to, and am caught between a Hamster Ball and the rest of the blue team. I really ought to learn to super-jump away from trouble one day. I tidy up some mess on my return, not that it helps. The blue team push our way and ink the turf immediately, but at least my squidmates come up behind to clean up the mess I left for them. I return to move in to a more positive supportive position, one along the Tower's track instead of behind it, although I miss the shots on the Squelcher. The Squiffer notices me, which is better than them aiming at the Tower, and I use my Suction Bomb Rush this time to lure them closer, before splatting them with a standard shot. Nice!
The rest of my Suction Bomb Rush gets me a lucky splat just before I got myself in trouble, and helps my squidmates ride the Tower in to the lead. I do what I can to keep the push going, thinking that riding the Tower is more effective than pulling back and trying to shoot the blue team, and I'm probably right. We nearly hit the goal, and although we're stopped short, there is so little time left that we've pretty much just assured our victory.
I have time to get splatted once more and return before the Tower gets to the half-way point, and I have enough ink to take pot-shots at the Tower until I start to hit something and let a squidmate clamber on to win the battle. Woomy!
