Splatoon 2: Stick to the higher turf in Tigerfest Quinze [7(3)-1, Custom Hydra Splatling]
I've got some practice with the Hydra Splatling on Port Mackerel. With the Splat Zones being static, that'll probably help me too. I just need to make good use of my range, and stay out of trouble. Getting a bit of height should help with that, and I can still spray most of the opposing Splat Zone. I still can't lead brushes every well, but I can out-range the Heavy Splatling, which suits me nicely. We lose the Splat Zones early on, but nothing serious, and I drop down to plant a couple of Ink Mines in our Splat Zone, hopefully to help keep them orange.
My position on the ground comes under some threat when the Jet Squelcher appears on the flank. They may not be able to beat my range, but their Sting Ray can, so I withdraw to the sponge to get some height again, once the stinging stops. We lose the lead as I spray ink towards the Jet Squelcher and Heavy Splatling in turn, wanting to ink the Splat Zones but not wanting to make myself vulnerable doing so. I destroy the Sprinkler when the Heavy Splatling retreats, and fall off the ledge when chasing a brush. I make use of that to plant another Ink Mine, kinda forgetting that it puts me in range of the Heavy Splatling.
Trying to climb up the sponge has it deflate, as the Jet Squelcher puts paid to my plans, but only temporarily. I fill the sponge up with ink again, and use some more of my charge to splat the Jet Squelcher who is distracted by someone else. Now to ink the Splat Zones. They Heavy Splatling has something to say about that, but I duck in to cover as a squidmate splats them, popping back up to freshly orange Splat Zones and a desire to keep the Jet Squelcher off our flank.
I take the opportunity in this quiet moment to drop a couple more Ink Mines, returning to the ledge to find the Splat Zones neutralised and the Jet Squelcher on our flank. Never mind, I split my attention between the Jet Squelcher and Splat Zones, handily splatting the Heavy Splatling as I do, and, along with inking from my squidmates, the Splat Zones are recaptured, and we're in the lead. Nice! I'm not sure who the Jet Squelcher is aiming their Sting Ray at over in the corner, but it seems a bit of a waste, and doesn't really help with the rather orange Splat Zones. I don't mind, and strike a pose as we're about to win, which is spoilt by some purple ink hitting me. Never mind. Woomy!
