Checking the flank gets me that first-splat medal, but it's my squidmates who are busy after that. I just wander around wondering where everyone is. They've been splatted or pushed back, and are on their ledge, as the Tower trundles their way. That's a good place to blast, so I do, even after everyone's gone. I finally catch up with the Tower and push past, looking to splat the Splat Charger, who has moved since I saw them, obviously, but I find them anyway. I intercept the empty Tower and rapidly jump off, given the attention of the Wellstring V, and flounder a bit more.

I'm helped by squidmates, keeping the pink ink off me, and I dash down the side, to have the Splattershot Jr jump in front of me, and the Splat Charger not be safe from my ranged blasts. Back to the Tower, although my squidmates are there too, and we're moving forwards again. I push ahead, running in to the Splattershot who easily hits me first. They do well to turn the Tower around too. I head back with surprising caution, given our early domination. I also move forwards at just the wrong moment, as the Splat Charger pulls out an Ink Vac. I quickly retreat and try a different angle, making do without ink, not wanting to blast to give my position away, and run in to the Splattershot. They should splat me at that close range, but I get lucky. Two blasts splats the Splat Charger, and we have a Wipeout and the Tower to ourselves.

I fall off the Tower, which is unfortunate, but get lucky again with a Suction Bomb thrown on to the ledge. Then I get stuck in the Wellstring V's shots, and they finish me off as I languish in their ink. My squidmates continue to make progress, and as the Tower stalls I dash to continue the push. I think its empty, but a pinkling is there, and they splat me long before my Suction Bomb can even think about protecting me. So it goes. The Tower looks well defended, but still a squidmate rides it further, getting past the third checkpoint. My slow return almost feels like a mistake, but the pinklings are there in force, and I doubt a super-jump was wise.

I catch up with the Tower to splat one inkling off it, and squid up a wall for a second splat. I try for a third, but the Splattershot Jr is slippery, and my aim is off. I try to counter their Wave Breaker with one of my own, only to forget about theirs and get splatted from it. There's a lesson to be learnt somewhere. I slink down the blind side on my return, trying to catch the pinklings out. Better aimed shots might have done that, but I still give them something to think about. Meanwhile, my squidmates ride the Tower again, so I lurk and look for opportunistic splats, only to be out-manoeuvred by the Splattershot. I don't think the squidbagging is deserved, but never mind.

I return with lots of ink flying around. I add to it with a Suction Bomb that finds a target, before dropping nicely on the Wellstring V. I almost add a third splat when the Splattershot appears, but again I can't get a bead on them quickly enough. The now Point-sensored Splattershot is a decent target on my return, as the pinklings finally make more progress. I blast at the corners, and forget how to jump Wave Breaker waves, but with time running out, we've done everything but hit the goal. Woomy!
