Google closed down all of its internal Stadia game developing studio’s a couple weeks ago but new information has come to light about just how the corporation displaced 150 people. Spoiler alert, it wasn’t pretty.

Apparently, just five days before announcing the studios were shutting down (via a public blog post), Phil Harrison the General Manager and Vice President of Stadia sent out a company-wide email applauding the group and basically saying how great everything was going.

Earlier this week, Nintendo held its first direct in 2021 and announced both Splatoon 3 and Mario Golf Super Rush. The fourth DLC character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate second fighters pass was also announced to be Xenoblade Chronicles 2 very own Pyrah and Mythra. They count as one character selection and players can swap between them freely during matches.

There were plenty more announcements made during the Nintendo Direct including new trailers for Monster Hunter Rise and Bravely Default 2 and they are covered pretty extensively in today’s roundup so stop reading this and start watching!

Amazon’s MMO New World was delayed again, Sony is being sued for controller drift found in the PS5’s new DualSense controller, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is tracking to be one of the best selling Mario games of all time.
