Star Citizen's Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2951 is starting, along with a free fly event. Anyone can create a free account and try out the game and fly most of the ships in the game for free. See below for more info!

Using my referral code will get you an extra 5,000 UEC (in game currency) and if you buy a game package before the end of November, both you and I will get a ship in game for free, the Argo Cargo! It's not currently a very useful ship, but a free ship is a free ship!

There will be a free fly event starting November 19th until December 1st. Anyone with a Star Citizen account will be able to log in and play. This coincides with an in game ship show, taking place at New Babbage on the planet Microtech. Each day, the ships of a different in game manufacturer will be available to tour and rent and fly for free. When you join the game for the first time, you will want to set your home planet to Microtech / New Babbage, as that is where the Expo is taking place.

The big new features of this patch are physicalized inventory and medical gameplay.
Physicalized inventory means that all items have a location. Previously, if you bought something, it went into a 'magical bag of holding' and you could pull it out or equip it anywhere you were. Now, all items have a location, so if you buy a gun in a certain city, if you want to use it somewhere else, you have to either equip it on yourself, store in in your backpack, or put in on your ship and bring it to where you want to use it.
Medical gameplay means that dying now has consequences beyond a bit of lost time. When you die now, you go into a downed state. Your friends have a chance to heal you, or you can send out a beacon for other players to rescue you. Bad injuries can leave you limping or being unable to aim well until you seek treatment at a hospital. If you do fully die, you leave a corpse behind with everything you had on you, which you can go back and retrieve or other players can loot.

In this video, I show off the missions of two different game loops: recovery missions and listening device missions.
I take a recovery mission and have to find a package in a crashed space ship and deliver it to a destination. Occasionally, there will be NPCs at the crash, looking for the package as well. Additionally, you can find other boxes that you can pick up that you can sell to stations or admin locations for an additional profit.
Listening device missions have you attempting to find and destroy some satellites near communication relays that are attempting to listen in on the communications. Once you attack one satellite, the others begin to upload whatever they have intercepted, so you only have a limited amount of time to find and destroy them all. Additionally, if you take too long, the criminals who placed the listening satellites will come to defend them, and you'll have a fight on your hands.
