In this Factorio episode we complete the solar factory is begin building out a field of solar panels and accumulators.

We start the episode out with the solar factory almost completely built. All that is left are beacons and modules. About 500 beacons are left to be places, so three train loads from the kickstart factory will finish the job.

However, I've added a bit on to the solar factory. I noticed there are a few cliffs where we want to build out the field of solar panels and accumulators. So adding a stack of cliff explosives to the train is probably a good idea. This is added by borrowing a bit of sulfur from the acid production, and sending it over to be made into explosives. The explosives, combined with grenades (coal and iron) and some barrels (steel), get us some cliff explosives.

We get the factory running by starting the trains to get materials. Production is a bit slow due to the missing beacons, but everything is being produced. We start the output train, and it goes over and starts building the first blueprint we put down.

However, we find that while we can put down blueprints for the solar field while we are over there, putting down blueprints from the map down't work too well due to the lack of radars in the blueprint. There is no radar coverage provided by the blueprint. So we add a radar to the middle of the blueprint, and add some radar production to the solar factory. With the new blueprint with the radar, we should be able to place down additional blueprints from the map without issue.

We are about 2 weeks from the full release of Factorio, and I'd like to be at 1000 science per minute by then. So we need to build two more science factories. However, we will need mining outposts for them, as well as space to build those factories not too far from those mines, so that the trains don't have to go too far. So at the end of the episode we continue to expand and explore to the east, as there should be bigger ore deposits the further from the starting are we go.

That wraps up this episode, see you next time.
