Part four of twelve.
Ok folks, this took a while. I originally did this on Sunday night but the videos got corrupted for no reason, so I recorded this from scratch, but this turned out way better than my previous effort. Anyways, here is the exciting sequel of Star Ocean on the SNES/Super Famicom, comes a 2.5D adventure on the Sony Playstation. Released on July 30th, 1998 in Japan, May 31st, 1999 in North America and some later date in Europe. You either play as a boy named Claude or a girl named Rena. I picked the boy character this time. His name is Claude C. Kenny. He sounds dorky in this game, I like his English voice in Star Ocean EX. Heck outfit looks better in Star Ocean EX to be honest but there is nothing wrong with it in this game. You save a girl from a mutated ape and enter the village later on. I like the analog controls more than the digital controls because you can run across the screen. Just like the original, the battles are quick and easy to get into. The graphics are great. Rotating sprites for the characters, some pre-rendered buildings/backgrounds and a 3D overworld composed of polygons, it looks good, but the frame rate is quite bad however. It doesn't ruin the overall experience mind you, it kinda puts some strain on the hardware. I'd say this game should have saw an updated version on the Sega Dreamcast with a better frame rate in some areas, VGA support and dunno what else and released on December 7th, 2000.
