PREVIOUSLY:
After being asleep for two days, Riou wakes up at the village of Crom, where the others also fled to after Tinto got taken over by Neclord. The party meets Kahn at the village entrance, who has found a way to seal the vampire's soul, stating that destroying Neclord's body only would not be sufficient to truly end him. The vampire hunter accompanies the party to look for the person who is capable of doing such task as they make their way to Tigermouth Village.
They soon arrive at the village, where they find the locals accusing a girl for being one of Neclord's henchmen. She gets annoyed by the noisiness of the people, and showcases her magic that scares them away, giving the idea to Viktor and the others that she is the one they are looking for in the process.
Kahn and the Star Dragon Sword convince Sierra to join them in vanquishing Neclord. The true wielder of the Moon rune accepts their offer, only if they could defeat her in a test of their abilities. The two sides engage in a battle, where Riou's party comes out on top. They return to Crom village to rest, and on the next morning, the news came that Lilly and Lo Wen were taken by Neclord. Gustav suggests that Riou and the others take the cave to the east that connects with the mine in Tinto in order to enter the city undetected.
Making their way through the mines, a guardian summoned by Neclord appears before them. They were able to defeat the golem with their combined strength, before making their way to the Tinto side of the mine.
They finally reach Tinto city, where they meet Neclord and the two girls in a house. Viktor manages to distract Neclord and buy time for Kahn to put up a magical barrier. As the lord of the undead was about to use the Moon rune's powers, Sierra intercepts the casting and orders the rune to cancel the magic.
Having nowhere to escape, Neclord is finally defeated after a battle with Riou's party, along with a final swing from Viktor using the Star Dragon Sword. Lilly and Lo Wen reunites with their respective families as Jess and Hauser gathers the troops to defeat Neclord's remaining zombie henchmen.
The acting mayor of Muse takes responsibility for his poor judgment that caused the lost of so many lives. He apologizes to Riou for his disrespect towards him, with the Dunan army leader accepting the apology and gladly enlisting the two to their side in the battle against Highland.
