Summoning Should Require a Flask Sacrifice | Elden Ring
Any game that has a limited healing system generally has it to limit the amount of consecutive retries or mistakes you can make. Unfortunately DeS, DS, DS2, DS3, BB, and ER all have a critical flaw around this design by allowing a host to summon a phantom without any cost beyond using the general multiplayer item to open the summoning ability. If after the first two summons an additional cost of 2-3 healing items were added then at least it would become a diminishing resource and prevent the host from letting a summon do everything risk free.
If it's never changed and the next game has the same flaw than I can only assume FromSoftware has more confidence in Torrent carrying the player than an actual thinking player summon because that horse does require a flask to revive.
