This is a run of Sunrider's Hard Mode in version 4.2a. I made this to give other players an idea of the strategies I used to win. All missions will be completed without using mid-battle saves, to ensure that the strategy is consistent enough to be replicated to some extent. Depending on what attacks hit or miss, you may not be able to follow my strategy exactly, so improvise as needed!

Mission 1 (0:42): I do this almost the same way every time. However if you get a bad damage spread when lasering the second Frigate (like it still has more than 280 HP left) it's preferable to chance a 90% Kinetic shot from 2 spaces away and then use Assault. There's actually a pretty wide range of possible damage numbers so sometimes you can't help taking 5 turns instead of 4.

Mission 2 (3:40): So we want to focus on the Havoc here. I move the Sunrider up one space to lure the Havoc up a little, and also ensure I get hit by the top-left ryder because Black Jack won't show up unless the Sunrider gets hit. I don't go for any enemy other than the Havoc because pirate ryders actually have decent flak, so you can't really rely on missiles doing consistent damage. As a result though I've never failed this mission because there's a lot of leeway, so much that the missed 87% laser didn't matter.

Doing about average for damage taken so far. I can buy $500 worth of upgrades for the next mission.
