Super Mario Bros. Wonder (2D Animation on 3D Models)
8Just a quick look at the game since I've been playing it and had some footage recorded. I have to admit my initial impressions weren't great for this game. Besides looking like more of a kids game than most other Mario games usually do I thought the animation was bad too. That is until I watched a Digital Foundry video explaining the style. You see it's basically 2D sprite animation techniques used on 3D models with an emphasis on keyframe poses. It's different that what we're used to with 3D models even in 2.5D side scroller platformers but once you understand it you might just appreciate it too. The game is really just a fun local co-op multiplayer game that's easy to play with others even if you're all at different skill levels. I played through the entire game with my Wife and will say it's probably one of the easier Super Mario games out there but it was fun.
