Once again, here are courses submitted from you! Not “you” specifically, but “you” collectively. I got a bunch submitted in, though it looks like by the time I was able to get to them, interest in my videos of Super Mario Maker 2 has dropped. View counts aren’t as important to me as comments in how I gauge interest, however. (Or maybe it’s because I put #50 up after a week-long absence due to unforeseen circumstances, and #51 came up during Super Bowl Sunday.) As always, here are the rules:

1. Maximum 5 courses per person at a time. Once I've put up all of them, you can send me more.

2. I will accept Course IDs only with the course's name and vice versa. No bare IDs and no bare names. I want to make sure I have the right one.

3. My player ID is KJ8-PD8-F9G, and I go by Puppycorn.

4. Do not send someone else's course. Courses you've obtained from others and modified yourself are fine, as long as the modifications are substantial.

Featured for this video are a pair of courses, one clearly designed to be a sequel, or perhaps a revised version, to the other. Both have very similar layouts, and they have been shopped around to various streamers and uploaders, with me being the latest one. Since they are so similar to each other, instead of dedicating a paragraph to each course, they’ll each share a multi-paragraph segment of this description.

You’ll see that not a lot of people had played these courses as of when I played them myself (which was February 3rd, 2024, the same day that I played “Your Courses #50” and “Your Courses #51”). This is because both of them were created on January 12th, 2024, making these courses the first ones I’ve featured in a video that were constructed and finished in 2024.

I…actually have my doubts about if an 8-year-old could actually publish courses like these. That’s because in order to publish a course, you have to play through it to the end, and while I’m sure an 8-year-old can eventually clear both of these, both from the beginning and from the checkpoint, doing so is going to require a great deal of patience, patience that many 8-year-olds won’t have. Little kids are also more likely to get frustrated and stop.

But perhaps an 8-year-old DID actually make these courses and cleared both of them by themselves, or an 8-year-old made them and had someone else clear it. I can see the thought process behind these courses, namely that a little kid would get entranced by being able to put as many enemies onscreen as they want, and they would want a course full of them. (Some of the earliest Super Mario Maker 2 “Your Courses” videos had courses with full use of enemy spam, albeit not from someone at eight years of age.) And I know these courses are not meant to be good nor enjyoable, but a demonstration of something I presume someone has grown incredibly sick of seeing.

By the way, while the best strategy for clearing the first course is to also clear out as many enemies as possible, preferably the Hammer Bros so they don’t get in your way, the second course was designed intentionally to not allow that to happen, as the ceiling is full of Warp Pipes that spawn in more enemies. Accordingly, I found that the best strategy is to just allow the platform you enter the room on to drop, then jump towards the middle at the last moment. The far left side of the room is a safe spot when you first show up, giving the Warp Pipe at the top some time to spawn in a Big Mushroom. Once you catch a Big Mushroom, you can take advantage of the mercy invincibility to defeat some enemies and jump on the Koopaling’s head (which goes for both versions of this course). As long as you can find some time to breathe between hits, the mercy invincibility lasts long enough for another Big Mushroom to show up.

All seven Koopalings turn up for these courses. Both are in the same order: Larry, Roy, Lemmy, Wendy, Iggy, Morton, and Ludwig, the exact same order as Mario faces them in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Ludwig is the most troublesome one here due to his ability to hover in the air, followed by Lemmy and his bouncing balls causing you to be redirected to the side and far from where Big Mushrooms are fed to. Roy in the second course is also a pain to beat due to him also popping out of the Warp Pipes built into the ceiling.
