Super Mario RPG - Ch. 20 - How to get the Lazy Shell
Howdy, howdy 8-Bit Audience. I hope you've been enjoying our playthrough of Super Mario RPG. It really is a fantastically remake that finally helps this game shine the way we all knew it could.
There's a couple of optional side quests in the game. One of them being, obtaining Mario's best weapon and the best general armor of the game. Both of these separate items are called the 'Lazy Shell'. The Lazy Shell armor can be equipped on anyone, however.
It's definitely not hard to get, but it does take some time, as two events here are separated by a little time. Let's jump right in...
CHAPTER 20 - HOW TO GET THE LAZY SHELL
You need to find two special items. Both of these items are found while looking for the 6th Star Piece. At the beginning of your quest for the 6th Star Piece, you go through Bean Valley. Right before you reach the pipe which leads to you to the Beanstalk, you fight Smilax.
Smilax is a Piranha Plant that has been watered with fertilizer by a Shy Guy Gardner named 'Beezo'. After the fight, Beezo will sound distressed, as he was told to not let anyone pass through to Nimbus Land. He decides to run away and hide. As he leaves, he drops a piece of paper.
Examine the paper to get the 'Seed'. This is the first item we need. This next part, I'm unsure if you can do it as soon as you reach Nimbus Land or have to wait until you save Mallow's parents. I waited until I beat Valentina and rescued Mallow's Parents. So if you're unable to do this earlier, you know why.
Go to the house to the right of the castle in Nimbus Land. Exit and walk straight down. You should walk straight off the cloud and onto an invisible hidden path. You'll run into the Beezo, the Shy Guy Gardner again. He will give you the 'Fertilizer' if you let him go.
Now that you have both the Seed and Fertilizer, go to Rose Town. There is a man who is a gardner living in the house behind the town. He will get excited when he sees you have both items. Give them to him and he will plant it right away. A climbable vine grows instantly in his planter.
You can climb up right there, or you can go outside and climb from there. Either way, it will lead to a cloud with two item boxes. Both boxes contain a 'Lazy Shell'. The one on the left is Mario's best weapon in the game. The one on the right is the armor, which I've given mainly to Peach.
Welp, I hope y'all found this helpful. Join us next time for 'Ch. 21 - Six Door Challenge'.
