Mega Man 7 - (Part 4) - Wily's Castle, Stages 1-3
Moving right along! Did you watch our last video on how to get all the optional items and upgrades? It's a definite must-watch, as the Super Adapter really helps us here in Wily's Castle. If you don't have it yet, you should really take a moment to get the R-U-S-H plates, as well as the Homing Punch Upgrade, then you'll be ready to Rockman!
Ok, let's get started here...
(PART 4) - WILY'S CASTLE, STAGES 1-3
It appears Mega Man 7 shares a similar format to Mega Man X, as Sigma's Fortress also had three stages, followed by the final boss. We're going to be going through the first three stages of Wily's Castle and our next video will finish things off.
There's not much to comment here. The stages aren't that hard with the Super Adapter and the bosses aren't difficult with a little info and practice.
1) Wily's Castle Stage 1
Mid-Boss - Bass
In the first two stages, you'll have a brief battle with Bass in the middle. He's weak against the Super Adapter's Homing Punch, so just do your best to dodge him and a couple of shots should finish him off
Boss - Guts Man v.2 (Weakness - Slash Claw)
We saw Wily steal Guts Man earlier from the Robot Museum. I guess he was giving him some upgrades. He's weak against the Slash Claw. He only has two basic attacks. He'll jump to cause a boulder to fall and then he'll attempt to chuck it at you.
If you're able to reach the boulder before him, use the Slash Blade on it to send it flying at him for good damage. Other than that, you can use the Slash Blade on his head. His other attack involves rushing at you, grabbing you and flinging you at the ceiling.
I don't know how to avoid this attack, but if you jump at the right time, you'll just get a regular contact hit, which hurts less.
2) Wily's Castle Stage 2
Mid-Boss - Bass
Bass is back and now he uses Treble to create his own version of the Super Adapter. This fight may seem more difficult, but it's basically the same as before. Only now, Bass can jump and fly a bit. He's still weak against your charged up Homing Punch.
Boss - Gamerizer (Weakness - Buster Shot)
This boss is fairly simple. It only has two modes. First, it will shoot fire at you. Be sure to dodge this by jumping, as it not only does a fair amount of damage, but will take a while. Then it will fling itself at you. You can dodge this by sliding under it. It will then slide backwards, so you'll need to quickly slide back.
Additionally, it will release a trio of smaller turtle bots. You can easily take care of these using the Danger Wrap. In fact, I was able to get them to even produce some healing items. Keep it up and eventually Gamerizer will be turtle soup.
3) Wily's Castle Stage 3
Note on the map that there are two paths to this stage: upper and lower. The upper path is much easier and even contains an E, S and W-tank. The lower path not only has a mid-boss, but only leads to an E-tank. The upper path is the way to go!
I unfortunately missed the items on the upper path, but it's ok. I already came fully stocked up on everything, so it's not a problem. After doing a series of classic Mega Man disappearing platforms (You know the one! You're making the sound in your head right now), you'll arrive at the boss
Boss - Wise NED² (Weakness - Noise Crush)
This is definitely the hardest of the three bosses. It's also strangely the funnest. As you battle Wise NED, the stage will continuously scroll to the right. This can make it hard to dodge Wise NED's numerous attacks. First off, NED will shoot missiles at you.
You can actually jump on these missiles and it's highly beneficial for you to do so. NED is only weak in the eyes and continuously bobs up and down as it moves right. So jumping on the missiles might be the only way for you to reach his eyes.
Also, he's weak against Noise Crush. You can speed things up by charging up the shot. You can do this by trying to slide and shot at the same time. It may take some practice, but it's definitely do-able. Additionally, NED will spin a laser at you, approach you very closely and then fling a pair of bombs at you.
All these can hurt, so try your best to dodge. It may take some practice, but this was a fun fight. Now we only have Stage 4 left to finish the game!
