Mega Man 7 - (Part 3) - All Item Locations
Ok, we're done with our traditional eight Robot Masters. Now's the time we'd typically head toward's Wily's Fortress. However, there are still plenty of optional items we can grab.
Some of these, I did as I was playing through the stages. Others, I recorded separately for convenience. However, you'll be able to see everything here! I didn't include E-Tanks, as you can simply buy them now at the shop and are limited to only four. Let's jump in...
PART 3 - ALL ITEM LOCATIONS
1) Auto's Hyperbolt - If you press SELECT from the stage select screen, you'll go to Auto's Item Shop. Here, you can actually buy all the items we're going to track down in this video. However you'll have to pay for them! If you're going to go this route, I would suggest at least getting Auto's Hyperbolt.
Auto will tell you that he's missing his bolt and has a few screws loose. You'll need to go to SPRING MAN's stage and use this box that has a spring-loaded boxing glove to punch through a wall. This will reveal a hidden room with the Hyperbolt! Bring it back to Auto and now all items are half-priced. Noice!
2) Beat - You remember Beat from other Mega Man's right? In other games, Beat actually helps us fight. But in this game, he helps by saving us from falling into a pit. When this happens, he will carry Mega Man for a short while before releasing him. Your quest for Beat starts in CLOUD MAN's stage.
Use the Rush Coil to reach a ladder near the top of the screen. Here, you'll run into Proto Man, who tells you to use fire in the forest. This is a clue to use the SCORCH WHEEL in part of SLASH MAN's stage. Use the Scorch Wheel on the last tree and it will reveal a ladder leading to Beat!
3) Energy Balance aka 'Energy Equalizer - This awesome items helps you keep your weapons topped off by applying Weapon Energy without having to select a weapon first! However, if you want to refill a specific weapon, it's recommended to still pre-select it.
You can find this item in SHADE MAN's stage. When you fight the Pumpkin mini-boss, only attack the outside. When you defeat it, it will crash into the wall on the right. Eventually, you will see a portrait of Wily. Use the RUSH SEARCH directly under the portrait to find it.
4) Exit Unit - This item allows you to leave a stage you've arleady completed without having to reach the end. This definitely comes in handy with some of these stages we have to revisit. It's located in FREEZE MAN's stage.
Right at the very end, use RUSH SEARCH on the very last ledge right before you reach the boss's chamber. Here, you'll find the Exit Unit.
5) Homing Rush Punch - This is an upgrade to the Rush Adapter (see below). When you have the Rush Adapter on, your charged up attack released a flying fist. This upgrade increases the range and adds a homing element to it. In order to get this, you'll need to already have the Rush Adapter. So you'll need to do that first, (see below).
Once you have it, go to TURBO MAN's stage. In the first half, you'll notice a large Life Energy on a ledge to the left of the ladder you're climbing. Use the Rush Adapter's rocket boost to get there. It's the only way to reach it. Use the Rush Search on the right half of it to find the Homing Rush Punch.
6) Rush Jet - This one is super easy. In JUNK MAN's stage, there's a part where you need to activate a machine using the THUNDER BOLT. Afterwards, you use the rising and lowering platforms to climb. You should eventually see a ladder out of reach. Use the RUSH COIL to get up there, where you'll find the Rush Jet.
7) Rush Search - Another easy one. In FREEZE MAN's stage, there's an area with two icy platforms: one on top and one on the bottom. Eventually, you need to take the bottom path to progress. But at the end of the top path, you'll find the Rush Search.
8) Rush Adapter - Ok, this one will take some work, as we need to find the R, U, S and H circuit plates.
R- (BURST MAN) - You'll see if as you pass an area where the water rises and falls.
U - (CLOUD MAN) - You'll need the Freeze Cracker. Shoot the thing that changes the weather and it'll start snowing. You should be able to see a ladder later that leads to the U.
S - (JUNK MAN) - Again, use the Freeze Cracker to freeze the lava waterfalls and access a hidden area containing the S
H - (FREEZE MAN) - Use Rush Coil to reach ladder which leads to room with the H. You'll need to move fast, as the platforms collapse.
9) Proto Shield - This one is the trickiest to get. You'll need to first find Proto Man in his two hidden locations (CLOUD MAN & TURBO MAN's stages). Then go to SHADE MAN's stage. This time, only attack the inner core of the Pumpkin to go down. There's a hidden area behind the green guy in the next screen!
