The Axem Rangers will steal the Star Piece and flee to the top of the Barrel Volcano, where they attack aboard their airship, the Blade. Each Axem Ranger plays a different role in battle:

-Axem Red has balanced stats and does not have any particularly special skills.

-Axem Pink uses healing magic and can transform the party into Mushrooms using Petal Blast.

-Axem Black is fast, and frequently attacks twice in the same turn.

-Axem Yellow has high physical strength and will use Body Slam if you attack him directly.

-Axem Green has powerful magic but fragile defense.

Once you defeat all five Axem Rangers, Axem Red will activate the Blade's main cannon and begin using it. The cannon has only one move, but it is the deadly Breaker Beam, one of the most powerful attacks in the game. The Blade can only attack every other turn, as it must recharge the Breaker Beam on its non-attack turns.
