Mario and the others have made it all the way up to Nimbus Land, which is where Mallow is from, and they learn that he is the prince of Nimbus Land. They find that Nimbus Castle has been taken over by a woman named Valentina, and with her is Dodo, the large bird which she used in place of Mallow, and it is up to them to get Nimbus Castle back from the usurper.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

To enter Nimbus Castle, you have to enter a house, which is where Garro makes golden statues, and there is one that resembles Mallow, but it is really his father from years ago. Talk to Garro to enter the castle, as he turns Mario into a gold statue, then we get put into a minigame where Dodo will try to peck the statues, and depending on how you did, you can either get a Feather or battle Dodo. For moves, Dodo has Multistrike to deal damage, and Flutter Hush to inflict mute, he is weak to Fire. The Feather that you get if you succeed increases the Speed of the user, but you do get another one if you fail at the minigame.
Then time to advance further in the castle, and for Hidden Treasures, you can find Frog Coins from them. Time to go over new enemies, first up is Sling Guy, a Green Shy Guy that can inflict status, and will flee if it is by itself, and they use slingshots to attack. Pinwheel can blow you back, and in battle, they don't have much HP, they can use lightning magic to attack. Next is Orbison, an upgraded Orb User, they have low HP, but they can heal allies, then there is Muckle, a large jellyfish enemy which use ice magic like Blizzard and Crystal, and they counter magic attacks. Jawful is a new enemy, they start by sleeping, and when they wake up, they use forks to attacs, they have a good amount of HP.
Next is Shaman, like a Final Fantasy mage, they use magic attacks of different elements to fight, and they have good Magic Resistance, and they can flee from battle. Bluebird is a blue Birdy, these variants use ice magic and are weak to fire.
Then for boss fights, the first one is against a large egg watered by a Beezo, this is Shelly, even if it has 500 HP, you have to attack it till to breaks open, and Birdo comes out. Birdo is resistant to many status and she attacks by firing eggs, and sometimes they can become Eggbert, which only has 10 HP, but it has a lot of attack power.
After getting through most of Nimbus Castle, there is one section where you can use a Super Star and skip another battle with Dodo, and then end up all the way outside. Then we take on Valentina in a battle, and Dodo will take your middle party member, I recommend having Bowser in the middle for that fight. After defeating Dodo, it will be Mario and your other party member against Valentina, and after a few turns, your middle partner will return. Valentina has a lot of magic attacks, some of which can inflict status, like Petal Blast, Aurora Flash, and Light Bubble, and she has elemental moves like Solidify, Painspout, Diamond Saw, Water Blast, Blizzard, and Crystal, she has many attacks. Valentina has 2000 HP, it will take many hits to defeat her, and after the battle, Mallow reunites with his parents, and we then learn where the next Star Piece is located.
After all of that, when you enter Nimbus Castle, you will see that all of the Valentina statues will be gone and replaced with King Nimbus statues, and in the room where Birdo was, you can find statues of Mario and all of his party members. You can find Croco in one of the houses, and he drops an Echo Signal Ring, this item alerts you of any Hidden Treasure, and tells you how many are in a room, kind of late to get that as there is only one more Hidden Treasure left, in the original SNES game, this was where you would get the Signal Ring. There is a hidden path that leads to a Beezo, and this one gives you the fertilizer, which we will need for a secret item, which I will show in the next part, but the items are worth getting. We even check on Booster following the events at Nimbus Castle to see what he is up to.
