Here's a walkthrough of me going through Super Metroid for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. I am getting a 100% completion in pickups, but no speed running. Also, I sequence break a few times, seeing as it's very easy to do so in this game.

I find the only expansion in Kraid's Hideout, which is an Energy Tank. Then I go to Norfair, where I can freely explore thanks to the Varia Suit, and find a bunch of Missiles, get the Wave Beam pretty early, and get the Speed Booster.
