One Minute Review of Super Metroid:
Super Metroid evolved the formula of its genre, in fact it's the reason why 2D Metroid games are so good. As Samus Aran you need to save the last Metroid, a dangerous alien, from the space pirates who want to weaponize it. This game takes you back to the imposing and dark planet Zebes from the first game, in fact some areas are recognizable but fundamentally different due to the events of the previous game. Controls aged very poorly for both movement and combat, but the level design has always clever ways to teach you the game, although many times it's not easy to figure out where to go. The pixel art is still very enjoyable, and the music is very atmospheric relatively to the moment at hand. I loved the visual story telling, which is very exciting and interesting. Unfortunately traversing the planet is most often tedious as many hurtals such as quicksand are very annoying.
