And here we are in the final stretch of the game, we venture through Tourian, and unlike the jellyfish weak clones of Metroids we encountered in Maridia, we face off against actual Metroids again.(And unlike the original technically, we HAVE to kill all of them.) And after defeating them all, we fall into a very dusty area, with immune side hopper like creatures, and find a third fake Chozo, only it's made of dust and falls to pieces. Same for a lot of enemies in the next room, but then we encounter it, the titular "Super Metroid" at last, and it's basically a regular one but huge. And it's immune to being frozen.After it nearly kills us with one health remaining,(Technically we would've been fine as we still had reserve tanks full.) we learn the truth via it's sudden familiar cries. It's the infant we had been trying to save only it's now mutated into this giant beast with basically a near insatiable appetite due to it's size. It flies off as we then go and face off against Mother Brain for the final confrontation, and all seems regular until Mother Brain rises with a new horrific body. We expend our reserves into it and then take three direct hyper beam strikes before the infant intervenes, and sacrifices itself to save Samus, while also giving her the hyper beam which we then turn on Mother Brain.I got into this a bit more in depth on my deviantart account but I digress. After vanquishing Mother Brain in a bit of a scripted final battle, we make our escape, but not before freeing the three critters who taught us how to wall jump, and also a bird we never encountered because I skipped over the hole we'd fall into in Brinstar via speed dashing, as it teaches you how to do the aerial dashes. Regardless we free them all and escape ourselves, we get a glimpse of their ship leaving after the massive explosion as well as our own.And I beat the game with 2:00 on the clock, and 71% completion, which nets me the suitless ending, and is good enough for me. I hadn't been able to get that ending for years since I just wasn't that good at Super Metroid for years until recently when I finally got a handle on the wall jump and memorized locations a bit so I did a lot of practice before recording this.I love this rom hack, as while I would appreciate a more proper NES justin bailey themed hack, or a hack that gives us the depiction of Samus as seen at the end of the game, I'll still gladly use this one for the time being. I hope you enjoyed this run of the game as while it's not 100%, I feel 71 is still pretty good especially the time I got via the time saves and speed run strats I used a little bit.


Also, there is new new "low health" animation for Samus, as she does have a low health animation officially in the regular version, but it's BARELY noticeable, while here it was made more pronounced via her altered stance.
