Super Smash Bros. Melee - Our Boy Roy VS 15 Minute Melee (redo)
Welcome to the 15 Minute Melee project. Here, I will make videos of doing 15 Minute Melee with various characters under certain conditions. Yep, an accomplishment that you certainly couldn't expect from people like the Hyphy Movement, the Uni-Mind including trolls, the San Francisco Bay Area residents who prove that it doesn't deserve to be called the "Yay Area", the shallow girls who would say "wanna suck my pee" just to mock me, and the Oakland rioters. The purpose of this project is to help players learn skills that could help in dealing with Meta Knight in Brawl, who abuses the Glass Cannon metagames that have dubious at best standards.
Now the conditions are no Screw Attack abuse, B button usage is limited purely to recovery, no (intentional) airdodging or glitch abuse, and getting as many KOs as feasible.
Anybody who wishes to contribute may vote for which 3 characters they'd want me to do next. Please keep in mind that I will not prioritize purely on vote count whatsoever, but don't be afraid to vote for your favorite character(s). Also, any characters I have recorded for (and will not redo, because I'll redo everybody else I already have besides Mewtwo) will not be counted, but you may revote for other characters. Lastly, if you vote for Zelda, it will be considered a vote for Shiek, whose KO potential I consider lower.
Roy's stats:
*Classification: Melee Tornado
*Specialty: being our boy with clean hits via close up strikes
*Smash bonus: attack power allowing for KOs without clean hits
*Notes: Up Air will not KO the wireframes, Neutral Air must hit with the second strike to KO
Ayup. Roy is improved. Back jump Neutral Air wasn't quite as good a skill as I expected, but useful nevertheless. And interesting because it makes use of the Neutral Air's lack of back cover in the first hit. Just goes to show that mastering weaknesses is better than hiding from them.
Of course, I couldn't rely on one move to carry me the whole way through. Neutral Air is still easy to mess up. But throws were very helpful and so were the forward and up smashes, as well as the up tilt.
Needless to say, I got 757 KOs, and I definitely earned them. Annihilator567 and anybody else who likes Roy, enjoy this video. I'm not going to redo Roy again, but I am sure I won't have to.
B Moves: Flare Blade (Neutral B) does KO even at full reach, and Blazer (Up B) also KOs anything in Roy's path although you have to be wary of being in the air in helpless state. Double-Edged Dance (Side B) can't KO with its early strikes, and Counter (Down B) only KOs if Roy is hit hard in Counter state and I find it unreliable anyway..
