This event Online Tourney is themed around one item, and that is the Bumper, and the name Pinball Pandemonium does go well with a Bumper-themed Online Tourney. With the Bumper, you can use them to knock opponent's back, and with a lot of them, this will make it like it is a game of pinball, as the Bumper is based on those things you would find in pinball machines.
Every character can be used in this Online Tourney, the only items that appear are the Smash Ball, Container, and Bumper, and for stages, a large selection of them can appear, but I will list which stages do not appear in this Online Tourney.
Rainbow Cruise, Temple, Corneria, Big Blue, Delfino Plaza, Mushroomy Kingdom, Frigate Orpheon, Halberd, Port Town Aero Dive, Castle Siege, New Pork City, Summit, Pirate Ship, 75m, 3D Land, Spirit Train, Prism Tower, Mute City SNES, Mushroom Kingdom U, Mario Circuit, Skyloft, The Great Cave Offensive, Palutena's Temple, Gaur Plain, Pilotwings, Wuhu Island

The stages that don't appear are usually side-scrolling stages, large stages, and moving stages, the strange examples of stages that are allowed are Golden Plains and Pac-Land, which are side-scrolling stages, and for some reason, New Donk City Hall can appear, and Prism Tower cannot, even though New Donk City Hall and Prism Tower are very similar stages, and Paper Mario can even appear even though it is a stage that transitions.
As for stages that would appear if DLC stages were allowed, that would be Mementos, King of Fighters Stadium, Spring Stadium, Minecraft World, Northern Cave, and Mishima Dojo. Yggdrasil's Altar, Spiral Mountain, and Cloud Sea of Alrest are moving stages, and Garreg Mach Monastery is a stage that transitions.
As for the rules, items are set to high, this is a tournament themed around the Bumper, so of course you have to set the item frequency to high, it is a time battle that lasts for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and Final Smash Meter is turned on, and you will earn a Spirit for participating.
I go with Random for my character, because that is one thing I like about the Online Tourney is that you can select Random, well you can do that in Battle Arena as well, and the character I got for this one is Inkling, this is like the second Online Tourney where I pick Random and it gives me Inkling. Even though there were only 8 players in this one, I did like the character choice for each of the players, so everyone was using different characters, my starting bracket had Greninja, Kazuya, and Duck Hunt Duo, while the other bracket had Mega Man, Ridley, Cloud, and Roy, at least all of us used different characters in this one.
The stages selected in this one were New Donk City Hall and Pokémon Stadium, and we got Jump Up, Super Star! for New Donk City Hall, where members of the band appear and if you touch then, they will add instruments into the song, it is only if that song plays on New Donk City Hall, and it can also happen if "Ground Theme (Band Performance) - Super Mario Bros." plays for this stage. Those were some good stages for this Online Tourney, although I was surprised to see New Donk City Hall be one of the stages that can appear, and yet Prism Tower cannot, despite how similar the two stages are.
