The new Season of Ranked Battles is now live, and it allows one Restricted Legendary Pokémon per team, but there is a twist, Dynamax is banned, and it is live for this month. However, as this is not a Ranked Battle and instead I am playing on Casual Battles, Dynamax can still be used, they might have done it for Series 10, but I don't think it will ever happen for Casual Battles.
I test out a really interesting team, specially the choices of Pokémon that I picked for this one, most of them being Pokémon I have used on Double Battle teams and being tested out in Single Battles, like Comfey for example, where it is a Pokémon that works better in Double Battles with its access to many support moves, but I decided to test one out in Single Battles. Golisopod was bred and EV Trained all the way back, before the Isle of Armor was even released, but it isn't until this battle that I finally get to use her online, because I couldn't find a good team to fit Golisopod onto, but it is her time.
Golisopod is a Pokémon that is more about making use of priority moves, this is because it has a low Speed stat, and its Ability of Emergency Exit does hinder it, because if its HP drops below 50%, it will be forced to switch out, so priority moves are the best way to get good use out of Golisopod. She has First Impression, Aqua Jet, and Sucker Punch for some good priority moves, and Liquidation is there for getting in some damage, and I gave her the Heavy-Duty Boots so that she will not take damage from Stealth Rock, Spikes, or any entry hazards, because on a Pokémon that has Emergency Exit for this Ability, this is likely the best held item to give to Golisopod if ever you want to try one out in battle.
I have said in a past video that Comfey works better in Double Battles, I decided to test her out in a Single Battle, she has Triage for her Ability to give her healing moves priority, so she can go first when she uses Draining Kiss and Synthesis. I gave her Calm Mind to give her Special Defense a boost, so it's helpful against Special Attackers, and also to power up her Draining Kiss, and she has Leech Seed to help last a bit longer in battle, specially against Pokémon with a lot of HP, like my opponent's Lapras for example. Triage does not work for Leech Seed, and I did check to see what moves are affected, and Rest is one of the affected moves through Triage, but you are not that likely to ever have Rest on Comfey, because Synthesis is usually preferred for a healing move.
Then there is Aerodactyl, I put him on the team so that I have a reliable Physical Attacker, even though Golisopod is a Physical Attacker as well, Aerodactyl has a great Speed stat to put its Attack to use, I gave him a Life Orb for the held item, and he has Stone Edge and Dual Wingbeat for some good STAB moves, Earthquake for coverage, and Dragon Dance to boost his Attack and Speed. Aerodactyl even makes a powerful Dynamax user, because his Dual Wingbeat becomes Max Airstream, and on a Pokémon with high Speed, this is very good, specially if I can get off a Dragon Dance before Dynamaxing.
There is something I find strange about my opponent's team, there is the hacked Galarian Slowking, but at least both Lapras and Charizard proved to be really good, although my opponent did have a good selection of moves on his Charizard, they were some that you don't ever commonly see on a Charizard in online battle.
