Continuing on with the taste of what the Sonic the Hedgehog series brought to Sega's 8-bit battery-guzzling Game Gear handheld last month with Sonic 1, for July's entry of #SuperSonicGameSaturday, we played one of the series' spin-offs and what I think is the system's best game. Tails' Adventure came out in 1995 and back then, I played this Metroid and Zelda-like 2D exploratory platformer starring Miles "Tails" Prower (and perhaps having a heavy World War II parallel/allegory to its story) pretty religiously, so I felt it needed to be part of this 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog monthly initiative that I'm doing this year. I played through the entire game to 100% (and showing off some of its glitches) using the Sonic Gems Collection and, as is the case with the first time we look at a classic compilation, we took a look at the collection itself and some of its unique extras in between playing the game in question. This stream resulted in some interesting moments and discussions from the chat, as well as showing off this much slower by Sonic standards, but still underrated game, its style and its impressive for its time/system visuals and art direction, which you've come to expect from this show by now.
