Syphon Filter 3 Walkthrough Part 1: Hotel Fukushima (INTRO & FIRST MISSION)
1Welcome back to my channel, dear gamers. As promised, today we'll be kickstarting the walkthrough of third and final game of the original Syphon Filter trilogy and series' final entry released on PlayStation 1, Syphon Filter 3 so sit back, relax and enjoy the gameplay.
About Game: Syphon Filter 3 is 2001 Third-Person Shooter video game developed by Bend Studio (former Eidetic) and published by Sony Computer Entertainment as PlayStation exclusive. It is the third mainline game in Syphon Filter series and its final entry released on PlayStation 1, serving as one of the final first-party exclusives for the console as it entered the final years of its life cycle. Notably, Syphon Filter 3 was one of the numerous video games whose content was affected by 9/11 terrorist attacks as its release was delayed by over a month and its original cover art which depicted an shootout near the American flag, was altered to remove the flag. Upon release, Syphon Filter 3 was met with average reviews from the critics but was still successful enough to warrant the continuation of the series on sixth-generation consoles as the sequel to this game, Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain was released in 2004.
Story of the game is framed as both the sequel to Syphon Filter 2 and prequel to the entire series, primarily following Gabriel Logan, Lian Xing and Lawrence Mujari as they are invited to Washington D.C. approximately a month following the events that caused the downfall of The Agency and Teressa Lipan's death in order to testify about their relationship to The Agency with the hearings being conducted by the State Secretary Vincent Hadden in order to use the three as scapegoats and cover up his own involvement with The Agency and Consortium that controlled it.
Following the events in New York City and Teressa Lipan's death, Gabe, Lian, who was successfully cured of Syohon Filter infection, and Mujari promise to honor their friend's memory by continuing to fight to dismantle the remains of Syphon Filter conspiracy and ensuring that the virus doesn't fall into anyone's hands, unaware that they are being observed by the US' State Secretary Vincent Hadden and Mara Aramov, both high-ranking members of the Consortium that planned to sell Syphon Filter to the rogue Chinese general named Shi-Hao through The Agency in order to instigate the war between China and Russia. As they observe the mourning trio with the opportunity to have them eliminated immediately, Hadden refuses to give the execution order, much to Aramov's frustration with Hadden explaining his decision by claiming that with Agency destroyed, its top operatives and leadership dead and its previously classified activities becoming public, he will need Gabe and his friends as the scapegoats for The Agency's activities in order to cover up the Consortium's role in the organization with the hearings for that exact purpose having already been set up.
Two weeks before the hearings, Gabe heads to Tokyo, Japan where Shi-Hao is meeting up with an local terrorist organization JRA who are to serve as the new middle men between the Consortium and Shi-Hao during the sale of Syphon Filter, his mission being to assassinate the general and all of his associates in order to definitely eliminate the threat of Syphon Filter being used as an weapon of war. To that end, Gabe rents a room in Hotel Fukushima, an hotel in Shinjuku District overlooking the building where the meeting between JRA and Shi-Hao is to take place, and uses the sniper rifle previously smuggled in by Lian to effectively turn the room into a sniper nest from which he proceeds to quickly kill Shi-Hao, his associates and all JRA members participating in the virus sale. However, as he completes his assignment, Gabe is informed that JRA members have already breached the hotel and are moving towards his position, forcing Gabe to fight his way out of the hotel and towards its main gate where he is picked up by Lian who tells him that two of them and Mujari have been summoned to Washington D.C. in order to testify about their involvement with The Agency and Syphon Filter conspiracy...
