1Back in Washington D.C., Lian continues her testimony in front of Hadden, recounting her own side of her and Gabe's mission in Erich Rohmmer's Costa Rican compound in August 1999 where she was sent to rescue the researchers held captive by Rohmmer and his men within the large Aztec temple complex used as the research facility by Rohmmer and his organization and collect both the computer data on the Syphon Filter virus and its physical sample with one of the researchers rescued by Lian being Elsa Weissinger who will go on to become a key researcher in The Agency's own Syphon Filter research program. Meanwhile in Dublin, Gabe's mission gets significantly more complicated as members of the Provisional Irish Republican Army attack S.S. Lorelei and start hauling large quantities of Syphon Filter off-board. Aware of the danger that the virus will possess in IRA's hands but unsure of who tipped them off about the virus, Gabe and Maggie Powers set off to stop IRA's transport trucks from leaving the docks...
