Julius got even easier than his previous fights: no Iron Stance, no more 1st hit counters, low stats, somewhat passive... but as weak as he is now, trying to brute force this battle isn't the best idea. Like, it's doable (because that's what I did lol) but damage and especially AC are a concern.
I need to roll as many "chance to nullify AC cost" as possible for every Arte used because I couldn't find any opportunity to recover AC without relying on stuns, and there's enough RNG as it is. Likewise, I need all the crits I can get to both recover AC mid-combo and to deal extra damage.
Something I realized later is that I could have equipped a Knight's Crest instead of the Risk Ring to have better odds due to its increased critical hit chance. While it would have been helpful here, this accessory will be used to great effect later on.
However, the main barrier I had to overcome was the weakness reset at the beginning, as it only has a 33% chance of working. Julius' counter pool consists of Falling Snow, Moonlight Assault and Time Disintegration. This last Arte is the only one that isn't aerial enabled. By using the Launcher to get Julius in the air while triggering a counter, hopefully rolling Time Disintegration, I can add a second element with Soaring Demon Fang so the combo can proceed as intended.
