If the video quality is worse than usual, it's because I had to do a lot of futzing about to get a video that wasn't in both a bunch of parts and huge. First time having to use a number of video programs so expect the audio to be lower quality in this video than it would normally playing the game.
I wanted to try this out ever since I played the EX demo and wanted to see how cool it'd be at super human playing. Turns out the skull snake minibosses, and presumably the other minibosses in the demo, can be skipped with frame perfect jumps to either reach the screen transition or make a frame perfect slide into a tunnel. Doing the slide causes some graphical glitches with the player UI until it updates, as well as maybe break the graphics in the second collapsing hall before Skull Man's room. There's also a glitch where entering a grounded state while hitting the screen transition in a miniboss room causes the game to lock up, requiring resetting.
Aside from that, the mechanics are rock solid and more accurate to the NES source than the original Wily Wars, though there's no ledge forgiveness allowing for shorter jumps. The Punk AI was manipulated so that his movements when bouncing around takes more vertical paths that are shorter. Switching weapons incurs a lag frame penalty per swap which isn't the worst if it saves more time. Some extra visual effects were disabled to reduce lag as much as possible.
