Description:
The demo uses kind of a "glide" idea. To make a glide, you need to
have X or Y coordinate to be perfectly aligned. In that case, i needed
to get F6400000 as Y coordinate. So, the idea is to trigger a teleporter.
The usual route is to open a door behind a teleporter pad and then step
on it going in a south-to-north direction. The teleporter (actually a
corresponding linedef) was placed with an intention that you cannot cross
it without opening the door. But in fact, you still can. Why? I've written it
above - if you get a perfect Y coordinate, you are almost in a wall, you
can't get any closer to it, and the teleporter line is as far as needed in
that case (thanks mr.Casali for such placement!). After that, any move
that changes your Y coordinate will immediately lead to an instant
teleportation.
Well, i didn't optimize anything, just wanted to check if it is possible.
Someone very lucky can try it unassisted, but the trick is very random,
because even if you bump into a wall, your coordinate usually will be
something between F6400000 and F64005xx. I've spent an hour building
it in Doom Replay Editor :) 0:11 could be achieved in a movie run if
i wouldn't have overlooked the trick possibility.
And thanks to gggmork, whose post at Doomworld forum gave me an
idea to try this out of course :)
