Terminator 2 spawned a lot of games when it came out and the Arcade game seems to be the most fondly remembered and most popular. Therefore it inevitably spawned home console ports. Now were any of them any good? For the most part yes they were....just bloody hard that's all. I've had the SNES copy of this game for over 20 yrs and it wasn't until about 7 yrs ago that I managed to finally beat it...and its all down to one single level...the infamous truck chase level where you must protect John Connor's pickup truck from being destroyed while speeding over to Skynet. Nothing has changed for me either, regarding this level in the Sega Genesis version. It's still a miserable and aggravating level of the highest order. Having noticed that the only real difference in gameplay between the SNES port and the Sega Genesis port (aside from graphics) is that the vehicle levels are more difficult in the SNES version but maintaining ammo is more difficult in the Sega Genesis version, I still very much stick by this little observation. Much easier to run out of ammo in this game, but at least you can find the extra lives/continue coins . But at the end of my frustrations do I hate this game...goodness no! Its very enjoyable and fun shooting everything in sight. And while the vehicle levels frustratingly hard and VERY nerve racking, its overall a very decent game and arguably still the best Terminator 2 game that there is. And if I had to pick between the SNES version or the Sega Genesis version I would easily pick the Sega Genesis version. While the SNES had better music, graphics and such, the Sega version was a tad easier, a bit faster and overall (at least I find that is) a bit better hit detection which is crucial in the dreaded vehicle levels. I would/will pick this version of the game any day over the SNES version simply because I have more fun playing this over the SNES version now. So this was worth replaying and revisiting, again, just be prepared to be terminated...a lot!

Hope you enjoy!
