The Oblivion Gates are opening, and pouring forth are the Devilish Daedra of Mehrunes Dagon. Destroy the Daedra, and save the continent of Tamriel, as well as all of Mundus!

One of my favorite games ever made.

Oblivion came out in 2006 on PC, PS3, and XBox 360. Made by Bethesda Softworks.

The Anvil Mages Guild is directly across from the entrance to Anvil, easy to spot, right in your view as soon as you enter.
Carahil, the leader of the Anvil mages Guild, was very straightforward, and and a lack of humor, when compared to the other guild leaders. She sent me after a Rogue Mage that had been assaulting Merchants and stealing their goods. The only thing that all the victims have in common is the Inn they stay at; The Brina Cross Inn.
Carahil went into further detail, providing information that the identifying factors of it being a mage, as well as their power of Ice. Carahil still went further and gave me some Frostshell Scrolls. She told me to meet a Arielle Jurard at the Brina Cross Inn and sent me off.
I set off on my horse via the main road from Anvil, in hopes of encountering the Rogue Mage along the way. My trip went smoothly up to Brina Cross Inn, and from there I met with Arielle Jurard, a Breton Battle Mage, who told me to rent a room. I spoke with the rest of the people in the Inn and none of them quite tipped me off, then rented a bed for the night. There was a older woman, Caminalda, an Altmer, who expressed much fear for my safety, and wished me well. Her voice then wavered when compared to before.
I went up to my room and prepared for bed. Arielle Jurard met with me in my room moments later, giving me more details about my mission, telling me to follow the Golden Road towards Kvatch, and that herself and another Battle Mage by the name of Roliand Hanus, an Imperial Battle Mage.
I rested for several hours, and then left the Inn. I felt eyes on me the whole time, and the older woman, Caminalda, had left the Inn, none of the other recurring patrons had left. Maybe she finally worked up the courage to head out.
On my trip Arielle and Roliand ran past me at a fast pace, faster than myself or even my horse! I noticed why, the fires of Oblivion were pouring out from an Oblivion gate on the hill on the Golden Road. A group of Daedra had killed Caminalda, who was apparently the Rogue Mage. I decided to report these findings to the Guild and avoid the Oblivion gate until later.
Carahil was shocked to find out that the Rogue mage was a woman, not a man. I imagine because of the majority of Bandits being men. She also expressed an odd "enjoyment" of the case being solved, making me wonder of the future of her plans. Nothing I can do anything about right now.
I then leave for Skingrad, my final recommendation.
