The Fish Files - The Lost Gameboy Color Pearl
When you think of point-and-click adventures, you immediately think of the PC. Mouse in hand, a screen full of options, and dialog boxes that stretch across half the monitor. In short? It's a genre that has always felt at home on large screens.
It's all the more astonishing that a small Italian studio called Seventh Sense had the courage to bring this essentially mouse-heavy gameplay to the Game Boy Color in the early 2000s.
Today's game has the wonderful name The Fish Files and was released in 2001. I honestly have no idea what became of the development studio, but at least they used the engine again for an Addams Family game, which was also released for the small color Game Boy in 2001. The publisher, by the way, was Microids. Not that that matters now, but just for the sake of completeness, I'd like to mention it.
I'd probably be going out on a limb if I called this game a pocket-sized Italian Day of the Tentacle, but it's pretty close.
