In this video, I discuss the recent leak that The Last of Us Part 3 Is DEVELOPING at Naughty Dog despite what reports have been saying… Crazy, I know but according to The Leak and other potentially accurate sources, The Last of Us Part 3 is in development at Naughty Dog! Meaning that fans of The Last of Us and its franchise will likely be able to revisit Ellie (and Abby’s/Joel’s) story arc. Neil Druckmann, who now resides as vice-president at Naughty Dog went on record to say that a story outline for The Last of Us Part 3 has already been developed at Naughty Dog! However - this happens a ton during development phases both at places like Naughty Dog, and many other studios, like the film industry. It isn’t unusual to hear a writer conduct work on a new game idea, or explore narratives for an upcoming IP, only for the title to get scrapped or never complete. Whether this will be the case for The Last of Us Part 3 remains unclear. However, it is exciting that just a number of weeks ago, it was possible that The Last of Us Part 3 may have not been happening, only for The Last of Us Part 3 being in development at Naughty Dog. I want to still tread carefully in saying that, as nothing has been confirmed by Naughty Dog nor Sony’s PlayStation as of yet. What I do know is that many are excited for some kind of continuation of The Last of Us Part 3.
Though I have low expectations for the exploration of The Last of Us Part 3 due to my opinion being settled on wanting Naughty Dog to find new ways of storytelling but making a new IP, I am still very much excited for this ‘leak’, and hope it carries some merit to it. I am such a big fan of The Last of Us franchise and want it to succeed in any capacity, so if Naughty Dog is developing The Last of Us Part 3 and wish to be discrete about it, I look forward to making follow-up videos marking my interest on The Last of Us Part 3 and equally, theorize regarding story concept and any political motifs that Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us 3 may entail. Though it remains unclear whether The Last of Us 3 is being worked on, that begs the question on what you think! Is The Last of Us Part 3 developing at Naughty Dog, or are these ‘leaks’ out of line and forming unnecessary hype?
