*Warning! - I may rant on about the story in the description so be aware there might be spoilers there if you read through it.*

The Last Promise was created by Blazer and is a hack for Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword. This hack is a full length adventure filled with danger, some new items & classes as well as music, and a very well balanced difficulty curve.

You can head to the following site to keep up with the latest news regarding the hack and download the latest version of it:

ROM should be easy enough to find on your own.

Alrighty, after being busy the past week, it's high time this chapter get completed.

First off, from the small pool of votes I got, Lirin gets the Ether Sphere. She oughta be able to contribute much more to battles now.

I also did a bit of organizing off screen, mostly consisting of me putting junk onto inactives because I need quite a bit of space for all the items I'm going to be getting in this chapter.

Now then, this chapter. It can be quite a challenge, especially if you want to grab all the treasure and still seize the throne within 26 turns.

Siege tome jerks are back in full force too. There's a Thunderbolt user in the central treasure room and a Ray user in the throne room. Keep everyone at full HP and hopefully things will be fine.

Now, for the treasure, you're going to have to split into three groups. Best to send Althares to either the central or eastern treasure room and Shadow to the other one.

For the NW treasure room, send two or three units in the direction of that room with Door & Chest Keys ready to be used. Two of each will be needed so you can grab all the loot and go right to the throne room afterwards. For me, Rex & Emma were more than capable of handling things there with maybe Alice getting in a shot or two if I send her over there.

After several turns have passed, reinforcements begin kicking in. A thief pops in at the SE part of the map and will beeline it for the eastern treasure room so you need to intercept and kill it before it can take that loot.

Other reinforcements include some Paladins from the SE and Warriors along the western route to the NW part of the map. Bit later on, a Sage spawns from the staircase to the west of the central treasure room on a few different turns.

The central part of the map is probably the nastiest. That treasure room houses the jerkface Thunderbolt user & a Bishop with some nasty units outside of that room (Warrior that breaks the HP cap to the east, General on a pillar to the SW, Swordmaster & Sage to the west, Paladin trio to the north, General & Sniper to the NE). You only really need to get into that treasure room, grab the treasure, and hang out, killing whatever you can in the process.

That Bishop in the central room needs to die because it has a very useful Fortify staff that drops upon its defeat. Pocket this sucker or use it only in extreme emergencies.

As for the treasure chests, NW has Elixirs & Fimbulvetr, central has Luxus (a bow), an Energy Ring, and an Angelic Robe, eastern has 7k gold & Blazer's Drops. Blazer's Drops are like the Afa's Drops in that they boost growth rates for one character. I eventually toss this Rana's way in the hopes that he gets some good levels from it.

After a long slog through everything, you should be at the throne and can promptly begin booting the boss out of it.

The boss happens to be Lanmark, one of the Magnian Generals you've been hearing about as of late. Being a very high ranking Magnian critter, he is, as expected, very nasty. High stats across the board, especially speed, two 1-2 range weapons (Tomahawk, Spear), and has the Iron Rune to cancel out criticals. Also, insane avoid (And we'll be seeing bosses with even more than that in the following two chapters).

Anyone that can do good damage and have an ample enough hit rate should attack as long as they are not at risk of being doubled or critted. Heal as needed and hopefully the jerk falls and you can seize the throne before 26 turns are up.

I really made some boneheaded tactical errors in this map, that's for sure. Let's not even start with the circus act Kelik had to pull on the first turn because of getting knocked down to 1 HP. At least he hit 20/20 on this map and turned out pretty damn good.

Emma got a ton of levels here as well tag teaming the western route with Rex. While she didn't fare quite as well as Kelik with getting favorable stat gains, she really doesn't need much more because she's pretty damn tanky and fast as it stands.
