*Warning! - I may rant on about the story in the description so be aware there might be spoilers there if you read through it.*

The Last Promise was created by Blazer and is a hack for Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword. This hack is a full length adventure filled with danger, some new items & classes as well as music, and a very well balanced difficulty curve.

You can head to the following site to keep up with the latest news regarding the hack and download the latest version of it:

ROM should be easy enough to find on your own.

And after a bit of a delay (mostly due to my own laziness, heh), it's time to fly through chapter 26!

This chapter is massive. Tons of ground to cover, lots of enemies, and a neat little touch to the map which will be explained in a bit.

There's a time limit of 72 turns for this chapter, but you can easily complete all of your required objectives in half that time, if not quicker. Thusly, don't feel like you need to rush to just barely make it. You've got enough time here.

Split into two teams at the start so you can conquer both castles. Kelik should go to one castle and Anakin the other one so you can seize both with minimal time wasted.

As you start crossing the bridge, watch it for siege tome jerks. Send your best flying units to dispose of them quickly so you are not under any duress during this time.

As the turns pass, you'll notice a most interesting gimmick...the passing of time, gradually getting darker until you're forced to use torches or staves to light the way, something I thought was pretty cool to do.

In any case, as you near turn 10, if possible, try to get a flying unit out to the one Halberdier in the SW to kill it. Two reasons for that.

First, it drops Leviathan, the S rank spear. Solid stats all around and boosts speed by 5 points.

The second reason is a trio of reinforcements that come in from the SW. Two are green army units, the other is a new unit for you to control, Gary.

Gary is a Warrior and basically is set to kill anything that looks at him funny from the word go. All of his offensive stats are extremely high, near their caps, while his defenses are average. That last part is offset by the fact his HP is just a few points shy of the cap. Given he has a few levels of growth, it's entirely possible for him to cap it and possibly even one or two other stats.

Gary's two green army units are no slouches in combat either...and therein lies the problem. If either one offs the Leviathan wielding Halberdier, you will not get that spear. If all else fails, just get Gary over to kill it with his bow.

Eventually, after a very long slog through the map, you'll be closing in on the boss of this chapter, Holton.

Holton does not screw around. Several capped stats, two nasty weapons, one of them being the S rank axe, and he will move to attack anyone if they're within his range.

If you want, you can bait him out with Gary and let him take Holton down as he's more than capable of doing that. Just keep Gary topped off in HP and he'll be just fine. Otherwise just be very careful in planning your assault on him so you don't get anyone killed off easily.

Once you've seized all 4 castles, this chapter ends. Make sure you've utilized the reinforcements as much as you want for extra experience before seizing that final castle.

As a small little bonus, if you employ Alice, Haas, and/or Leopold in this battle, you'll get some extra green army reinforcements to help you out. Fielding Alice gives you Falcon Knights, Hass gives you Nomad Troopers, and Leopold gives you Wyvern Lords.

Not much else to talk about here other than ruthless execution of enemies for fun and profit (And random green army Falcon Knights getting too close to Holton. That ends pretty badly for them).
