The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX playthrough Part 18
Level 7,Eagle's Tower. Most frustrating dungeon in the game, and for good reason. The gimmick of this dungeon is that there are 4 Pillars scattered around the 2nd floor. What Link has to do is lug around that iron ball and toss it into the pillars, knocking them down. Luckily the ball will stay put even if you leave the screen, unless you toss it down a hole or something,so you can toss it over barriers and enter from another side to get it around. There's a monster resembling Kirby around here, only Bombs hurt it,so best to just leave it alone. The treasure of this dungeon is the Level 2 Mirror Shield, though uh,it's not very useful in this game. For the 3rd and 4th pillars, you'll have to do quite a bit of walking around, getting the iron ball in the right spots and messing with the crystal switches. The 4th one is kinda tricky, you'll need to force the chest to spawn and grab it's contents to make a Hookshot target, then get the ball tossed over the barrier from the south. If you destroy all 4 pillars before ascending, you won't have to deal with most of the 3rd floor. The miniboss is on the 3rd floor, you can't hurt him directly,so just attack his birds. Grab the Nightmare Key in the room beyond, then make it over to the boss room. BOSS FIGHT: Evil Eagle. Pathetic boss, just jump up and slash it when it flies by. It'll try to fly into you,or shoot feathers or blow you off the stage. The Organ of Evening Calm,Instrument #7,is yours for winning. 1 left!
