Today we unbox, build, and review the May 2023 Lego Technic Peugeot 9x8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar set #42156, with 1,775 pieces. We start this build trying to figure out why? Because I have little to no interest in vehicles like this, let alone a Peugeot. I always thought the build looked really unique, but is that really a reason to buy it? So, after a month of deciding, I caved and here we are. Going into the unboxing, I find five numbered build bags, each number contains multiple bags. I also find four tires and three unmarked bags containing brackets, plates, and arches. Finally we discover two sticker sheets equalling 41 stickers and a decent instruction booklet. After the Timelapse, we begin our review, lets start at the front and work our way back. In the front we have the gimmicky “lightsaber” glow in the dark elements, I actually find these very cool. Especially when you turn off the lights. Continuing on the front frunk opens up revealing the single spring suspension design, and what resembles the electric drive motors. Going down the sides we have excellent part usage to create the unique shape of this vehicle. We have nice green accents in the interior, one seat for the driver, a working steering wheel, and two functioning opening doors. Going into the back, there is a nicely made cover covering the engine, I really dig this design in a Technic set. Under the cover you see what resembles the bi-turbo V6 engine. Like most Technic sets, the pistons move where you can see them. We finish off with a big spoiler, and it looks like a 6 piece twilight design. The wheels appear to be flipped around from there intended use, but this completes the model. Im not a big fan of the open fenders showing the tires, and I wish the taillight elements where translucent red instead of solid. Those are my gripes, after being super picky. I definitely do recommend this build. It really took me by surprise, and I am very happy I did it. It helped gain some much needed feeling for Lego Technic. Thank you for watching!
