62The world's most amazing weapons are made in Africa. The most incredible come from the Mangbetu people of the Congo. Today we feature these insane weapons, these spectacular swords in all their glory. Many are familiar with the swords of Europe and Asia but the swords of Africa are a mystery to most. Their blades come in great varieties and are fearsome in strength. Weapons are an amazing part of African history, especially in the Congo rainforest. African swords were not only tools great power in combat but also imaginative works of art. Each sword design is both interesting aesthetically and most likely very effective tools for fighting. The blades are typically made of iron, but can be made of other metals as well. The weapons we'll see today are from Central Africa, specifically the country of the Democratic Republic of Congo which is the larger of the two Congos.
