The game is very blunt in telling you that the first section of the game is the "Three Trials" and quickly tells you what those three are. However, what the game really does not tell you is that there are a fair number of things which really aren't part of the trials but which are necessary in order to complete the trials. For example, how do you prove mastery of swordfighting without having a sword? Well you obviously buy a sword. But how do you get the money to buy the sword?
This video runs through the basic events necessary in order to actually progress into the three different trials and should provide all of the information necessary in order to complete this section in the time limit necessary in order to earn the "Human Cannonball" trophy for finishing the game in under three hours.
