This NEW Unreal Engine 5 Open World RPG ALREADY Works in VR! // AVOWED VR Mod (UEVR)
527AVOWED is a brand new open world RPG from Obsidian and it already works in VR thanks to the UEVR mod due to the fact this game was built using Unreal Engine 5, but is it better in VR or should we wait for a more polished VR mod/profile to come along? Right now the Avowed VR mod feels pretty good, the open world looks fantastic in VR and playing this way provides a relaxed but immersive experience, you can the depth, scale and immersion of VR whilst playing seated and interacting with the world using button prompts (sadly no motion controls yet). It feels very similar to the kind of VR mod experience you get with Cyberpunk 2077 or Indiana Jones. However the framerate and resolution are a challenge, even on a 4090 VR ready PC setup I was experiencing stutters, rendering issues and needed to settle for a lower than ideal resolution, meaning distant objects in the environment looked slightly blurry or out of focus. It's amazing to be able to play a massive new open world RPG like this in VR on day one thanks to UEVR but in it's current state I think playing it flat with the sharper visuals is the way to go.
