Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Walkthrough Part 8: Seoul
With the war breaking out between North and South Korea due to South Koreans being implicated as responsible for an break-in into North Korean artillery system and sinking of USS Clarence E. Walsh in an attempt to frame North Koreans, Sam is deployed into South Korean capital, Seoul in order to continue the investigation, with his mission being to break into South Korean data trunk to which Third Echelon was able to trace the intrusion and collect the data for further analysis. However, with Seoul becoming an battlefield as North Koreans are trying to capture it, and with Americans aware that should the data incriminate South Koreans as responsible for the hacking of North Korean missile launchers, Pyongyang will be able to use that information to possibly force unification of Korea under its regime, Sam's mission becomes of critical importance to retaining the current balance of power in the Far East. While Sam is able to gain access to the data trunk and secure the data easily despite having to navigate through an active warzone where both North and South Korean troops fighting for the city are designated as enemies, his mission hits a snag as American plane sent to wirelessly retrieve the data during an fly-by over Seoul and send it to Third Echelon ends up shot down by an anti-aircraft guns after sending the data but before purging it from the plane, meaning that North Korean retrieval parties could easily gain access to it. With Americans having no interest in letting that happen, Sam's mission is updated to reaching the plane's crash site before North Koreans and destroying its wreckage by laser-targeting it for an guided airstrike, with Sam managing to do so while avoiding armed drones and battle tanks deployed by North Koreans on the way to the crash site, and even rescuing two of the plane pilots who ended up knocked out after ejecting themselves from the crashed plane and would've ended up killed in an airstrike if Sam hadn't retrieved them...
