There's a lot of board games out there that have some sort of story associated - some of them are bigger than others, overarching or one offs. Story creates a unique context for the experience, and today, I take a look at scenario-based games; effectively one-off stories.

I've talked a lot about narrative storytelling in games over the years, mostly looking at how much I enjoy the approach that specific games take to the topic, whether fiction or non-fictional aspects. Today, I wanted to look at more compartmentalized games - ones that have specific scenarios for players to go through. That is, no overarching story or continuing campaign, but rather a single experience that's self-contained. It's a somewhat minimal difference, but key when looking at the games.
