As a break, but also not exactly a break, from the real-world pandemic of COVID-19, I wanted to talk about one of my favorite literature themes in gaming - the Cthulhu Mythos by HP Lovecraft. Having significantly built the horror genre, lots of the ideas translate to the table.

Horror themes have always been pretty prevalent in gaming - video, board, and otherwise, as well as other media. HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos was one of the first major lines for the genre, and is still going strong to this day. In board gaming, it's enabled us to explore a lot in the co-op context, as well as constantly looking around the table to try and figure out who's with or against us at any given time. That said, here are my personal favorites, primarily focused on how much they embody the theme of Cthulhu as a genre and concept; enjoy!
