Outbreak is the first map for Advanced Warfare’s Zombies mode. Here’s five things it did right.

#5: Outbreak has a great layout. It’s easy to get from one location to another just by walking there, but there’s also a fast travel system with the trash chutes if you’re lazy like me.

#4: The first wonder weapon the gamemode introduced is easily its best. The CEL-3 shotgun is powerful and fun to use, and will appear on every future map.

#3: Outbreak has several viable training strategies. The spawn makes for the best hoarding area, but the main hub and exo-room also make for fast and safe training areas.

#2: On top of these great training areas, Outbreak has what I’d consider the only viable camping area. While it’s ruined if a door is opened and only really viable in Co-Op, it’s the only map in this game to feature a great camping area, which deserves some praise for variety’s sake.

#1: Outbreak is one of the simplest maps you could possibly make, and that makes it a great introduction map. While Zombies had been around for years at this point, advanced movement was brand new, which meant players would need some time to adjust. Outbreak’s simple design made it an easy starting point for new and experienced Zombies players alike.
