Ben Collins, better known as The Stig on the original Top Gear, took HotCars contributor Michael Van Runkle out for Laguna Seca hot laps in the Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance. Most manufacturers don't want to show off their luxury sedans on such a technical track but Lucid believes the Air's power and handling deserve just as much attention as the world-beating range ratings.

The next day, Michael gets his hands on a Lucid Air in Grand Touring trim (with the 516-mile EPA estimate) for a quick cruise around Monterey's famous 17 Mile Drive to see whether The Stig's skills translate to real-world driving dynamics. Even with 819 horsepower, the Grand Touring still impresses with more than enough power for daily use. But the biggest questions about suspension, handling, and build quality still need answering.
