TriGunXSword's How not to Dark Souls: The Second Attempt Playthrough part 11 - Sen's Fortress
1Well Sen's fortress is a first for my attempts to record this series, so at least I'm making progress. I'm not gonna touch the basement area unless I decide to go for a specific boss weapon because there's nothing for me down there asides from a bunch of titanite demons and frustration. Instead I'll have fun with the serpents who guard this place, and the various traps set up to stop me. I'll admit even I don't know every secret in this place, and it's kinda hard to find a good walkthrough that covers everything.
The boss of this fortress is an iron golem. Despite his size and defense he's actually not so bad. Much like any giant enemy in the series it's usually safer at his feet than anywhere else, as long as you know how to read his movements and dodge his grab attacks. The actual danger here is being knocked off the ledge of the arena, as the golem connecting with any attack is very likely to send you flying to your death depending on your choice of footing. The same is true for the golem itself actually, as it can also maneuver itself to a place where it can easily launch itself off the platform as well and end the fight prematurely. If you can get the golem to stagger on the edge there's a good chance that knocking him over will send him off to his doom, so that's something that's definitely worth trying to set up if you're confident enough in your maneuvering during combat. I'd avoid locking on as the camera spinning tends to get you killed a lot more in this fight just because it leads to more maneuvering mistakes.
